We’ve seen an enormous number of shirts already this season, but US Endoume have just thrown a serious contender into the conversation.

From the French lower leagues comes a shirt that tells the story of Marseille, all under the watchful eye of La Bonne Mère, the “Good Mother” standing high above the city atop the Basilique Notre-Dame de la Garde.

Even the club badge now proudly carries the iconic statue, but it’s across the shirt itself where things really come alive.

At first glance, those sharp red and black stripes establish the identity. Look closer and there’s an entire visual representation of Marseille running through them.

Architecture, the Basilique, maritime history and other symbols of the city form a tapestry within the stripes. Using a slightly darker tone keeps everything visible without allowing the illustrations to overwhelm the shirt.

That little touch of gold works beautifully too, adding to the ornate feel and perhaps even reflecting La Bonne Mère herself as she shines above Marseille.

Then Kappa add the familiar details that they do so well, completing something that manages to feel like both a football shirt and a piece of artwork dedicated to its home.

It’s another example of why it’s worth looking well beyond football’s biggest leagues for great shirt design.

So, what’s your shirt of the 2026/27 season so far?

Because this one is right up there for us.
