A wonderful occasion in more ways than one.
Stepping out from the familiar Olympique de Marseille identity and into their own light, Les Marseillaises have unveiled something rather special.
For the first time, the women’s team have a football shirt created exclusively for them, complete with their own crest. Better still, they’ve chosen Breast Cancer Awareness Month to mark the occasion.
Introducing Octobre Rose.

Pink, white and gold. It’s a combination that rarely disappoints, and Marseille’s latest creation makes a compelling case for it.
Soft pink and white stripes are separated by fine gold detailing, while the new Les Marseillaises crest takes pride of place on the chest, also finished in gold.
The PUMA branding and CMA CGM sponsorship follow suit, maintaining the colour scheme across the shirt.
It’s elegant without looking overly delicate, with just enough traditional football shirt character to make it equally at home on the pitch.

There’s considerable significance behind that golden crest.
Les Marseillaises unveiled their own identity in September 2025, and this is the first time it has appeared on a dedicated match shirt.
For a women’s team that has historically shared much of its visual identity with the men’s side, that’s a meaningful moment.
The club has also gone further than simply releasing a special colourway.
Designed and manufactured entirely in France, the limited-edition shirt forms part of a wider campaign centred on solidarity, recovery and supporting women affected by breast cancer.
Under the message Tu ne seras jamais seule, meaning You will never be alone, Marseille are bringing supporters, patients, healthcare workers and the wider community together.
The shirt will be worn against FC Fleury 91 on 18 October, with the occasion also helping raise funds for the fight against breast cancer.

It’s another example of how much ambition is now being invested in women’s football identities.
We’ve recently seen Napoli Women forge their own path with a completely new crest and a striking collection from Craft, built around the mythology and culture of Naples.
Marseille’s approach is different, maintaining a close connection with Olympique de Marseille while giving Les Marseillaises something recognisably their own.
It raises a question that extends well beyond these two clubs.
Should every women’s football team have its own dedicated shirts and identity, or is sharing the same kit as the men’s team an important part of belonging to one club?
There’s room for different approaches, but it’s difficult not to appreciate the significance of Marseille’s first exclusive shirt.
A wonderful cause, a memorable debut for the crest and a pink, white and gold combination that looks fantastic.
