The Jersey of Happiness 🇧🇹

Bhutan step into a new partnership with Hummel, and it starts with a kit that draws directly from the country’s identity.

Known for measuring progress through Gross National Happiness rather than economic output, Bhutan brings that same sense of purpose into the design. This first release sets the tone clearly.

The base is a bold saffron orange, taken from the robes worn by Buddhist monks across the country. It is a colour tied to tradition and daily life rather than just visual impact, which gives the kit a clear point of reference.

Across the front sits the Druk, the Thunder Dragon, one of the most recognisable national symbols. It gives the shirt its focal point and adds contrast against the orange base without overcomplicating the design.

Beyond that, a subtle pattern runs through the fabric, inspired by the shapes of the Himalayan landscape. It stays in the background but adds another layer that connects the kit to its surroundings.

It is a bright kit, but not without structure. Every element points back to something specific, which keeps it from feeling random despite the strength of the colour.

This is the first of three designs, and it sets a clear direction.
