Water Shapes Perspective 🌊

A kit launch that’s more than just the shirt itself, this one has plenty going on beyond the fabric. And the album is well worth a look too — it’s an absolute vibe!

Augsburg’s new away kit comes with a creative twist, with their own Han-Noah Massengo stepping away from the pitch and getting behind the camera for a project inspired by the waters around the city, their conservation and the role they play in sustainability.

Set amongst the rivers at Wolfzahnau, where the Lech and Wertach meet, the new petrol green shirt fits the setting rather nicely. The base is covered in a wave-like pattern that shifts and moves across the shirt, giving it plenty of depth without becoming too overwhelming. The rich green paired with those flashes of gold certainly gives it a distinctive look.

But back to the launch, because that’s arguably where this one gets even more interesting.

Han-Noah takes control behind the camera and there’s a real sense that he’s enjoying the creative side just as much as being on the pitch. The angles, lighting, subjects and setting all feel considered, creating something that looks more like a creative project than a standard kit catalogue.

It’s great to see Augsburg giving a player the opportunity to put his own stamp on the launch too. Does knowing the story behind these images make you look at the shirt differently?

Either way, it’s a pretty memorable way to introduce a new away kit.
