Techno City
Detroit City are celebrating one of the city’s most influential cultural exports this season, teaming up with Movement Festival for a special edition kit rooted in Detroit’s techno legacy.

The influence of late 80s and early 90s electronic culture runs through every part of the design. The digital-style base pattern shifts and flows across the shirt with a distorted, almost animated effect that immediately gives it movement and energy despite the rigid pixel structure underneath. It feels chaotic at first glance, but there is clear control behind it all.

The standout feature is the “Techno City” wordmark stretched across the front in a heavily pixelated style that looks lifted straight from early electronic graphics and rave-era visuals. Loud, sharp and impossible to ignore, it sets the tone for the entire release.

The detailing carries onto the back too, where the number set follows the same visual direction and “Movement” sits above it, tying the collaboration together fully rather than limiting it to a sponsor placement or sleeve patch.

This is not a subtle kit and it is not trying to be. Detroit City have gone all in on the theme, embracing the city’s musical identity through visuals that feel authentic to the era and culture they are referencing.

The result looks just as natural away from football as it does on the pitch, which probably says everything about how closely music and club culture overlap in this release.
