Now that’s how you launch a football kit.
Cancún FC have taken their latest release beneath the surface, quite literally, to celebrate one of the Yucatán Peninsula’s most remarkable natural features: the cenotes.

These freshwater sinkholes are found across the region and have become synonymous with Mexico’s Caribbean coastline, their crystal-clear waters contrasting with the mysterious depths below.
That contrast is exactly what the club has tried to capture.

The ‘Dark Cenote’ shirt blends bright aquatic blues with deeper, darker tones, creating a colour palette that mirrors the experience of looking into one of these natural pools. It’s a simple concept, but one that translates well onto the fabric.
Of course, the photoshoot deserves plenty of attention too.

Launching the kit underwater is more than just a marketing stunt—it reinforces the story behind the design and creates a memorable visual that feels connected to the inspiration rather than separate from it.
It does raise a question, though.
How much does a launch campaign influence your opinion of a kit? Would this shirt stand out as much without the underwater imagery, or does the presentation elevate the design?

Either way, it’s a creative way to celebrate one of the region’s defining landmarks—and one of the more memorable launches we’ve seen this season.
