Some collaborations are one-offs.
Others quickly feel like they should become a tradition.
Modelo and Kappa are back behind the bar with another football-inspired collection and, much like their first effort, they’ve kept the ingredients relatively simple.
Rich navy, clean white and just enough gold to elevate everything.
The standout detail across the collection is the all-over pattern. It’s interesting how differently it behaves depending on the base colour too. On the navy shirt, it feels bold and almost textured, creating a real statement piece. On the white version, the same pattern suddenly feels cleaner and more refined.
Then there’s the collar.
The long-sleeve navy shirt in particular feels like the hero piece of the collection, with the contrast collar adding a slightly retro flavour that suits the overall aesthetic perfectly.
The alternate shirt takes things in a different direction. Subtle diamond detailing and the shimmering gold Modelo wordmark give it a more luxurious feel, almost leaning towards lifestyle wear as much as football apparel.
That’s perhaps the question with this collection.
Are these football shirts, or are they simply football-inspired fashion pieces?
The answer probably doesn’t matter all that much. They look equally at home on a terrace, in a beer garden or, fittingly, with a cold one in hand.
The first collection set a high bar.
This latest round doesn’t seem to have lost any of its flavour.
