It’s bold, I’ll give them that. The pinkest of the pink (actually listed as ‘Beetroot Purple’), with cutting patterning linked to a Derby shirt of the past, in case you were worried you wouldn’t stand-out enough already.
Take your pick of what it reminds you of – for me it’s either a vein-popping Italian cyclist tearing up a mountain, or an 80’s American workout video star with matching leg warmers.
In fairness though, this shirt is about awareness – the third kit’s colours proudly support Breast Cancer Now’s ‘wear it pink’ fundraising campaign, whilst Derby and Umbro contributed a portion of the sale price to Breast Cancer Now during the month of launch. A noble cause and a gesture to match.
It’s got a massive gambling sponsor, but you knew that already.
