I’ve been assured that this isn’t a ‘keeper shirt. But it is, isn’t it?

Dabbling in green shirts is always ballsy if you don’t normally don a green strip, and this one includes just enough bits and pieces and is exactly the right shade of green to make you think ‘yeah, that’s definitely a ‘keeper shirt’.

My favourite thing about this is that it’s the third shirt for Birmingham, and the third different neck they’ve used. This one is an actual v-neck, apparently, rather than the ‘hybrid v-neck’ on the away shirt, and the full mashings get-your-mum-to-starch-it collar on the home kit.

Being at the vanguard of neck variety is not where I’d choose to pitch my tent when designing a set of shirts, but I admire the ingenuity.

For what it’s worth, the actual Birmingham ‘keeper shirt is bright yellow and half decent – let’s hope they swap them round, we’ll all pretend not to notice.

5/10
