The type of shirt that’s likely to make people come up to you on holiday and say ‘I’ve never met a Burton Albion fan before.’ That’s the line you always walk when you attempt a colour scheme synonymous with another club, and this effort unfortunately trips over it as a result.

The trim works well, the collar is smart, and the background detail is there to break-up the yellow slab. But it’s a Burton shirt.

The woven badge in matching black and yellow is a nice modern twist (not that I think Barnsley’s ace crest ever needs twisting), but let’s face it, it’s a Burton shirt.

For what it’s worth, I think it’s a better Burton shirt than Burton’s actual shirt this season.

6/10 as a Barnsley Shirt
