Arsenal 2020/21, Home Shirt Review

Image from kitbag.com

Sticking with their usual red and white, the Gunners have a respectable shirt here that I think will sell very well. Adidas are again the brand and Emirates again the sponsor albeit with slightly different wording to the chest. It is very similar to last year’s home shirt with the general style and the colours appearing in the same places but I suppose this keeps them on brand.

Some small evolutions in the kit have taken place with the edgy, shaped patterns running through the middle of the material giving various different tones of red rather than one block of the same colour. The collar has also changed quite substantially.

But, which shirt do you prefer?

Aston Villa 2020/21, Home Shirt Review

Stadium version Image from kitbag.com

The Aston Villa 2020/21 home shirt features the staple claret and blue but a new sponsor, ‘Cazoo.’ The kappa logo stands proud on the right breast and the two logos on the sleeves look stylish. To my tastes, the symmetrical darker lines down the middle are a welcome addition. But, football shirt fashion is subjective so let’s pass it over to you – the fans. The real critics.

Brighton 2020/21, Home Shirt Review

 Image from footyheadlines.com

Wow. This is a masterpiece. Brighton have taken bold steps with the 2020/21 home shirt: thin stripes, collar and a dash of yellow to name a few. This shirt absolutely ticks all our boxes. The sponsor sits in theme quite well and the shirt certainly falls into the category of that new stylish, trend of fashionable football shirts. Slight personal preferences take it to a score of 9 on the nose – Imagine it sponsorless and without a break in the stripes. Could it be improved?

Burnley 2020/21, Home Shirt Review

Colours? Fantastic. Collar? Great. Style? Very pleasant. Sponsor? Oh dear L… The shirt has some good points but it is very hard to get away from the huge amount of space the sponsor takes up in the middle of the shirt. A sponsorless version of this shirt would look really good. Am I overreacting with this score?

A simple blue design with the key features being the 3 sponsor in the middle, the Hyundai sponsor on the sleeve and the classic Nike swoosh. It is pleasant enough and I like the zigzag lines in the material but otherwise not many marks for originality.

I like the colours and I like the way the stripes are presented. I am not sure I can get over how ultra-mega-kompat-gera-squelch fit this looks. On the players though, these look a lot better. The sponsor is a turn off for us.

Everton 2020/21, Home Shirt Review

 Image from kitbag.com

Simple blue with slightly different shading to the top, this shirt sticks to the theme of Everton’s blue shirt heritage. The white Hummel logo and Cazoo sponsor are vital in preserving a respectable, yet conservative shirt. The subtle detailing to the shoulders is also welcome. This could be an underrated shirt.

A simple black and white design, these colours look fresh. A betting sponsor always splits opinion as I am sure that collar will too. It is not outrageously good or bad but somewhere in the average camp.

Lovely clean white and blue with the stand out being the LUFC badge. It is a simple Adidas design but it looks commercially acceptable and ready to wear casual or smart with a pair of jeans. A nice tint of blue at the bottom of the sleeve.

Blue with hints of white and gold. King Power sits proud – synonymous with Leicester of recent years. A similar template to the Fulham shirt but with a better balance of colours and more attractive collar.

Liverpool 2020/21, Home Shirt Review

Liverpool were surely always going to be majority red so I for one appreciate the hints of other colours and the small details within the material. It is in-keeping with the club’s brand. It looks good on the players but is nothing revolutionary.

This is one of the bolder decisions from the kit designers, making the shatter glass type detail within the front of the material. I like it and think it really works. The white collar adds a lot and I like the idea of a sleeve sponsor for this shirt. Overall, a fresh and stylish shirt.

Red with a mixed-paint pallet effect within the material. I appreciate the effort to do something different but it falls short of looking great for me. They have the odds stacked against them to make something work with the Chevrolet sponsor in the middle.

Black and white stripes look on point and the red lettering is fantastic. Cool Puma logo. The sponsor has destroyed the chances of a great shirt here.

More white than in previous years. This shirt hits the mark. Cool collar and the combination with the Adidas stripes on the shoulders really works. The colour combinations work great too. This shirt could see them into the top 6.

Oh the sash! What a shame. I think this is a real downgrade from the red and white stripes. Relegation potential here confirmed with an unattractive sponsor (albeit within colour scheme).

A lovely style to this shirt. Beautiful detailing in the material of the shirt front and back. The hints of yellow are a master stroke in making this shirt look so fresh. This shirt will challenge at the top.

A solid mid-table shirt. It is completely inoffensive but also not very inspiring. It would work quite well with jeans because of the lack of vibrant colours. Simplistic but not ugly. The colours work well with the sponsor.

Love the West Ham colours and love the way they have done it this year. A simple design done really well. There is something nostalgic about the shirt. The only gripe would perhaps be the sponsor.

Just the right amount of black used in the shirt. Great use of the Adidas stripes and excellent detailing within the material on the front of the shirt. They did what they could with the sponsor they have. A nice looking shirt.
